An Illustration that I’ve slowly been working on during my lunch breaks. I don’t normally take my time quite this much, but it was really enjoyable!
This is available as a hand signed and numbered, limited edition print run in my Etsy shop.
Adobe Photoshop CS5, CS6 & Wacom Intuos 5.
Such BADASS ART!!!
Marimo (毬藻) moss balls are actually a type of algae that grows spherically as it rolls in the water. Because they only grow 5mm a month, they are easy to take care of, but they are also very rare and can only be found in a few parts of the world including Japan & Iceland. Because of their rarity and beauty, a festival called Marimo Matsuri takes place every year in Hokkaido, Japan where all the marimo plants in the Lake Akanko are taken out, individually cleaned, and placed back into the water. Not only are they adorable, but they are considered a national treasure in Japan!

Until one is committed, there is hesistancy, the chance to draw back. Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one elementary truth, the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one’s favor all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamed would have come his way. Whatever you can do, or dream you can do, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it.
Begin it now.

"Art and artists are very much misunderstood in our culture… Because we have this ethic of purpose and utility, and art is not useful in a very direct way. And I think that, also, our concept of artists is that they’re lazy somehow and that they don’t want to work hard… In fact, what I discovered in working with artists is that most artists, by and large, are not doing it because they want to be the next Andy Warhol — they’re doing it at huge personal expense and struggling to keep a practice going while trying to figure out how to make ends meet. They’re not making art because they want to make money, they make art because they have something to say that they want to share with the world."

Watercolor on Paper. 6 x 8.5”
I enjoyed painting the hair and the eyes. It’s so much fun with the wet-in-wet technique. Hopefully next week I’ll have more time painting especially on Saturday which is a holiday. (Yey for Panagbenga Street Parade! :D) And hopefully next week I can finish my presentation for my class.
Money not importants, loves importants
I just had to reblog this.

Finally, A painting!!!:D
Last Christmas vacation, I took the opportunity to start painting again and this is the output (or part of it).
I’ll be uploading the whole painting when it’s finish. This is actually the first one I’ve done since 2008.
By the way, I’m sorry for the poor resolution. I’ll be uploading a much clearer version next time.
